Bring your laptop and some knowledge of JavaScript – we'll provide everything else.

From Zero to App with HTML5, APIs, and PhoneGap

This workshop will take you step-by-step through the process of building a hybrid, API-driven mobile app for iOS, Android, or Windows Phone 8. And the skills you learn are equally applicable to native development as well! During the workshop you will:

  • Learn RESTful API design and best practices
  • Leverage a Backend-as-a-Service to create, read, update, filter, sort and delete data
  • Handle offline access, geolocation, push notifications, user management and more
  • Deploy your app to your mobile device
The ABCs of APIs using Node.js

This brand new workshop will teach you to design, build, and deploy RESTful APIs using Node.js, JavaScript and Swagger, which you then can deploy to Apigee or the platform of your choice. Packed into this workshop are topics such as:

  • RESTful API design and best practices
  • Using NodeJS to build and deploy an API
  • Easily exposing data from databases such as MySQL, Postgres and MongoDB
  • Creating API policies such as rate limiting, OAuth, and more
  • Creating delightful API docs with Swagger
